Bible Problems

At least half of humanity reads the old testament in one or another way. Sometimes they call it the bible, others call it the thorah or the Quran. All these books share the same stories.

But, as also stated on my page about books, books are translations of older works, and/or are merged from previous works.

So the search goes on for the oldest version of the books. And what happens? when you read the older versions, it turns out that the modern version of the bible is not totally correct translated. It is not very difficult to check that for yourself. Go to this page for the text of genesis 1:1(This text says: And God created the havens and the earth, this is the very first line of the Bible). click on the 'C' (concordance and hebrew/greek) to see translations of the words. You can see here that the original word was Elohim. Ask every person who speaks Hebrew about words that ends on 'im'. He will answer that every word that ends on 'im' is a plural word. So the real sentence is "In the beginning, the GodS created the earth".

Also the Holy Quran says something like this: 28. It is We Who created them, and We have made their frame strong; but, when We shall exchange their likes. The Holy Quran 76. Time, Man (Ad-Dahr, Al-Insán)

But there's more on the Bible. Later on, in Genesis 3:8, Adam and Eve get kicked out of the paradise. You will see that in that chapter is referred to the LORD GOD, in Hebrew language the 'Yehovah Elohim'. (Sorry I am actually not supposed to use the full name here. See here why). So you could translate this sentence in "The one of the gods with the name Yehovah". By the way, this chapter is all strange, because the serpent promises that they will "become gods, knowing good and evil", but Eve knew beforehand that it is evil to eat the apple, because she tells so to the snake. (Gen 3:2 and 3:3)

OK, one more example that makes you think: in Job 7:12 the bible speaks about a whale. A whale? In the warm region of mesopotamia? How very strange. So when you look at the translation, you find that it can mean dragon, serpent, sea monster, dinosaur(?) or whale. So which one is correct?

There are many many more of these examples. So the bottom line is: Dont believe all that is written. Even if this book was originally written by the Gods themselves, people seem to be born to mess things up.

The version we read now is translated again from the septuaginta, the original greek version of the old testament which dates from 250-100 BC, in 1638. The New testament was collected by eusebius, after emperor Constantine made cristianity the official religion in the roman empire in 311. In my hometown there is a church named after him, follow this link

Think about the setting of the religions in that time. In about 300 AD the romans had to choose between Roman, Jewish, Greek, Egyptian, Christian and Mithras worshipping, and i probably forgot a few. There were many different views to choose from. Jesus was the one who didnt want to pay taxes to the government. He said, lets give the roman things back to the romans (money), we are happy with the things from the God. Of course this impressed many people and christianity slowly began emerging. In 311, constatine had to make a decision to make one of these religions the official one for the roman empire, to be able to make laws on that base. He had to fight in a battle just outside rome. Many of his men were already converted, and were wearing christian symbols. The battle was won, and constatine declared the christian religion official. The story goes that after that, he let his wife and son having killed, raped and plundered for the rest of his life, and just before he died, he converted himself to secure his place in heaven.

To illustrate that many religions were active in these days, i like to explain the naming of the city of paris. This name comes from par-isis, the city of Isis. Isis is one of the egypian godesses. In roman times, the Isis-worshipping was still going on, the egyptian religion was certainly not dead! The romans called the city of paris 'Lutetia'. After the roman empire collapsed in about 450 AD, the city was renamed again in Par-isis, so even in this time the Isis-worshipping was still going strong!
