Evolution of Undead to the Peak

Leon opened his eyes and suddenly found himself in the middle of nowhere.

Huh? Didn I die? He was confused as his surroundings were dark. As his vision became more clear, he found several skeletons walking around.

He jolted when he saw that but not any skeleton even looked at him. His eye fell on his hand and found it was thin and white.

Am I a skeleton too? He looked at his legs and it was the same as his hands.. I can walk. I can walk now! He shook his body in joy.

He ran around and walked with a happy expression which unfortunately didn show up in his face. It was as if he hadn ever walked in his life. A pure joy only a disabled person who recovered could have gained.

Not long after, he calmed down. He then started to examine his surroundings.

The hallway was built up of white brownish rocks and was huge as it could contain 10 skeletons in a horizontal row.

Am I in a dungeon? Hmm…is this a fantasy world? Lets see if there is any system here. I should test the knowledge I have learned in novels, manga and anime. He thought and shouted in his mind. Status!

Silence as if there was nothing making noise. But, the silence soon came to cease with the sound of bones produced by the skeletons walking around without even looking at Leon.

But not long after, a window popped as if to break the suspense like in movies. But it wasn like that since there was a loading scene at the corner of Leons eyes which was too small to notice and he was also too excited.

So I do have one it seems. Hmm. No skills, normal. Stats looks average and….Why is my name blank and there is a bracket. So, I currently don have a name and my current race is Undead. Well as I guessed, reading novels does help and isn a waste of time.

Leon was satisfied and he nodded. And he looked around his companions or maybe colleagues as it seems he is also a dungeon monster.

But with limited information, he is still confused about various things.

So, killing creatures may give me EXP. So will my colleagues also give me EXP and even if they do, will they let me go if I kill them? Interesting, lets test it! With that, he cracked his knuckles and went around seeing if he could find any isolated skeletons as all of them were in a group or near each other.

After a while, he arrived at an intersection. There were paths to every direction and Leon didn have the knowledge of any path. He also isn sure if there are any traps in this dungeon which could be harmful.

After a while, he found a group of skeletons taking the left direction and Leon simply followed them.

After a while of consistent hallway, he finally arrived at an open ground.

There weren many skeletons here but one could see a skeleton of a four legged creature.

A creature who had skeletons twice bigger than a human skeleton. It had four legs and was walking using all of its legs. It had big pointy wings behind its back and red flame eyes. A pair of long horns erected from its head made Leon sure that the creature was a monsters skeleton.

There wasn only one of those but several of them in the open ground. The open ground was in the middle of a cliff. As Leon went to the edge of the ground, he saw a deep cliff, some blue liquid was flowing.

The ground also had small cracks which were emitting blue gas but he couldn feel anything from the gas.

After seeing the big creature, Leon was a little scared. He was always scared of animals but not to the point of phobia. Only general fear.

So, he exited from the place and returned to the same intersection and this time decided to choose the right direction.

He walked there but didn find any creature as it was quite and eerie. Not. Long after he walked, he found a skeleton hitting the wall. There was a dead end and the skeleton, who didn have any awareness of its surroundings, hit the wall trying to move ahead.

Seeing that put a smile on Leons face and he advanced there with two intentions.

First to check. If attacking the skeleton will result in the skeleton fighting back and to check if killing it will give EXP and also if it could drop items like in games.

OK, here I go. Leon took a deep breath and raised his hand forming a fist.

Bang!

A sound generated as his punch hit the skeleton head.

The skeleton stopped moving and turned back. Its hollow eyes looked at Leon.
