The last rays of sunlight shone on two people.

A man who was as thin as bone was seated by the window.

Jian Yiling sat on the edge of the bed and looked up at him.

The man also looked down at her.

The two of them just sat there silently.
They didn’t reach out to touch the other person.
It was as though they feared the other person disappearing like a bubble.

As Jian Yiling looked at Zhai Yunsheng, her eyes were glistening red.

This man had been so handsome in the past.
However now, he was frighteningly skinny.

Jian Yiling’s hand gently grazed over Zhai Yunsheng’s hand.
As he was overly skinny, his bones appeared more prominent.

“I can cook.
You will get better,” Jian Yiling said to Zhai Yunsheng.

She had to make him get better!

However, Zhai Yunsheng did not reply.
Instead, he stared at Jian Yiling.

Ever since they met, he did not say a single word.
He merely looked at her.

“A Sheng, you will get better okay? Once you start eating, everything will be fine.”

Jian Yiling held onto Zhai Yunsheng’s hand.
She felt the lines on his palm and felt his presence.

“A Sheng…”

Then, Zhai Yunsheng’s hand reached out to touch Jian Yiling’s scarred face…

“I’m alright.
It’s just injuries on the surface level.
I’ll be fine,” Jian Yiling explained to Zhai Yunsheng.

Then, Zhai Yunsheng slowly withdrew his hand.
Like before, he still did not speak.

“A Sheng, can you talk to me?” Jian Yiling begged.

From the time they met until now, Zhai Yunsheng did not say a single word.

This made Jian Yiling incredibly worried.

However, Zhai Yunsheng still did not open his mouth.

When he did speak, he always asked for news on Jian Yiling.
