She then looked over at Gu Xi, smiled, and turned to talk to Gu Shao, “I guess she was tired from all the excitement today.
She refused to go sleep in her room and insisted on waiting for you here.”

Gu Shao didn’t show any signs on him when he heard Wang Pei’s words but, anyone who looked careful enough would see that he seemed to be smiling.

Gu Shao walked over and squatted down by the couch.

“Get up.
It’s time to go home,” said Gu Shao to Gu Xi.
There was a hint of tenderness in his voice that he would never use at anyone else.

Unfortunately, Gu Xi did not catch any of that in her sleep.
As though she wasn’t comfortable enough, she rubbed her face against the blanket and kept on sleeping in a more comfortable position.

Gu Shao called her a few times but he failed to wake her up.

Looking at her helplessly for a little while and, not knowing how to pick her up, Gu Shao was about to pick her up from her collar.

Gu who saw that jumped up and down instantly.

“You can’t just pick up a person like that!” said Old Mr.
Gu with a look of heartache.
Besides, even if he could, what if he woke her up?

“Who carries a child that way?” said Old Mr.
