ike she’s having a headache.

.

But it’s the truth and I want to be honest to her about it.

.

–It started a week after the duel with Dudley Claise.

I’m just completing quests as usual.
However, though I am still a D rank adventurer, I am being allowed to take on quests designated to C ranks for reasons I do not know.

.

That’s why I was fighting against a Fanghorn earlier, a class C monster.

.

With the class of the monster being higher than my ranking as an adventurer, Kaya took the quest with me while saying ‘I’ll join you just in case though I don’t think it’s kind of unnecessary’.

.

Just where did this unfounded confidence in me keep coming from.

.

There’s the Guild Master Arturo too.

.

[I believe any quests can be completed if it’s Arios-dono who will take it.]

.

So he said.

.

Really, I’m starting to feel overrated.

.

But even though he said that, it still isn’t simple for them to give me a B rank quest to fulfill.

The issue doesn’t lie with my abilities but due to the headquarter’s policy.

.

[You’ll probably get promoted to C rank sooner or later at this rate, don’t you think so, Arios-san? But more than that, the idea of you becoming someone beyond an S rank adventurer isn’t far fetched either…]

[Beyond an S rank…?]

[An Irregular.
Oh, the word perfectly describes you as well, Arios-san!]

[Pu-please, enough with the teasing…]

.

What kind of rank is an ‘Irregular’.

Isn’t just that literally saying that I’m someone abnormal?

.

The thought makes me a bit uncomfortable so, *cough, cough*, yep, let’s focus on the corpse of the Fanghorn instead.

.

[…More importantly, we better start processing this monster’s corpse.
The sun’s about to set too after all.]

[You’re right.
Still, the time we spend together with just the both of us is something that makes me happy, just in case you’ll ask me.]

[…Just what are you saying all of a sudden, really….]

.

I let out a sigh as I whispered my reply.

I walk towards the corpse of the Fanghorn – and at that moment—

.

[…….zt.]

.

I halt my movements all of a sudden.

I turn around and my companion’s eyes meet mine.

.

[What seems to be the matt — oh…]

.

Though a bit late, Kaya now noticed as well the strange presence I felt.
Her face stiffens as she turns and looks toward the same direction as me.

.

[Arios-san… There’s something… or someone must be there.]

[Yeah.
I don’t feel any kind of hostility coming from it but… just who’s that supposed to be.]

.

An underling of Saviors’ of Arceus, maybe?

.

But then, it would be strange for it to hold no hostility.
They should be looking at me as one of their enemies and it’s hard to believe that they’ll bear no ill intent towards me.

.

…Just, what is that person supposed to be then…

.

[H-he…lp…]

.

*—thud—*

.

A strange noise immediately followed then.

.

Now what.

Though it’s kinda vague, it seemed like it was asking for help…

.

Kaya and I look at each other for a second before we slowly approach the spot where the presence and noise came from.

.

[Ah… That’s…]

.

Kaya’s eyes then widened in surprise.

.

Afterall, on top of the ground covered by thin lushful grass, lies a figure of a scrawny girl that’s fallen down.

.

[This child… She’s a slave…?]

.

Kaya then whispers after seeing so.

This is a start of a new arc! We’re about to see a new character and story so stay tune until our next release!
