We had fine weather today! It was the perfect weather to work in!!
However, today is my day off♪ It’s important to rest once in a while.
…It wasn’t like I overslept and then went to the guild only to find that most of the jobs had been taken.
…That’s a lie.
Yes…the day after it rained, the Adventurers have to make up for the day that they rested, and so the competition for work becomes fierce.
The lady at reception seemed quite tired as she told me this with an apologetic expression… Those drunkards…I won’t lose next time!!

So, that was the reason that I had an unexpected day off.
It really could not be helped, could it? After all, the remaining quests were all of high difficulty.

Well, in a way, it was good timing.
Because I had things to do, including inspecting my equipment.
The equipment that is entrusted with the life of a first-rate Adventurer.
And so I must ensure that it remains in the best condition!!
…That’s what I’m supposed to do…

But when I went to the armor shop, I was scolded terribly.
Apparently, I had done a very bad job of maintaining my sword and leather armor.
But I had been so thorough in wiping them with rags…
In the first place, this sword and leather armor were things that I snuck out of the storage house before leaving home, and so they had not been in the best condition to begin with…

Though I made weak protestations, all I got in return were sighs of sincere exasperation.
And I was also stared at with eyes that seemed to be filled with pity… I seemed to get that a lot recently…but why?
But in spite of being scolded, he ended up mending them for free.
The old man at the armor shop was very nice.
Though, he practically forced me to buy a beginner’s maintenance set, which was not cheap.
(It contained a small whetstone, oil, beeswax, several pieces of cloth, and a manual)
Ah, and he also said that if I showed him that I was properly maintaining my equipment the next time I visited, that I would get a discount when purchasing something.
So he really was a nice person after all!!

After that, I returned to the Adventurers Guild, and looked for documents about the mines in the surrounding area.
The reason for this was that the old man said that he would make me something if I brought the materials.

Bringing your own materials was a little cheaper than buying an existing product.
And so I would take advantage of that!!
When adding the discount that I would get, it should mean that I could take thirty or forty percent off of the price.
Forty percent off of new equipment…it was like a dream.
Also, I could sell any ore that I didn’t need.
That was also something to note.
Jobs that allowed me to make money efficiently.
That is what I need the most right now!

After some searching, I found out that there was a currently unused mine that was about one day from the town on foot.
(I would have to sleep outdoors if I went…and preparations would be expensive)
But while it wasn’t abandoned, there were supposed to be some monsters in the area.
…As long as I don’t go too deep, I won’t meet any monsters, right? Maybe…

Now, as I have a lot of work to do tomorrow, I will sleep early tonight.
Ah, I’m staying in the same inn as yesterday.
While my money has decreased a lot, I don’t care anymore!!
