I just woke up and sleepily walked to my bathroom as I washed my face.

”I am 18 today ” I thought to myself and smiled while still washing my face.

I looked into the mirror only to find myself confused.

My hair and eyes are…?

Rose gold?!

Its a pretty shade but how?! Did someone dye my hair while I was sleeping?! But that doesn explain the eyes!!!

Am I dreaming? Is this a dream? Theres no way this is real life, right?

I busied myself searching the internet. Is there any phenomenon on why or how this might happen? Or just anyone that has experienced the same thing?

No one.

There is no phenomenon like this. I found some articles of people being born with different colored eyes, different colored patch of hair, but none that could explain this situation.

I ran crying to my mom.

Myra: Mom, look, why is my hair this color?

Mother: Wait… Myra?

Myra: Mom don joke around please, what is happening ?

I explained what had happened while balling my eyes out. She seemed to be in disbelief but then she looked at me for a bit and held my shoulder.

Mother: Okay, listen, calm down. Deep breaths. Don panic.

My mom motioned me to sit down as I took heavy breaths. My vision was blurry from tears. I couldn think straight, she hugged me to make me feel better as I buried myself into her chest crying my heart out.

Mother: Its probably fine honey, don worry. Do you maybe want to consult with a doctor?

I couldn reply back to her. I was just too busy crying. I could hear her worried tone. I don want to face anyone with this state. No one just wakes up to find a different color of hair and eyes!

I am talking to a doctor online.

They probably think I am being ridiculous or maybe even lying, but they just replied with they are not sure of this phenomenon. And added, it might be a rare genetic mutation.

Thats probably the most believable theory out there.

I went onto my Instagram account and opened up about what happened.
