As the three of them were eating, a subtle sound of something breaking through the air drew their attention.
Jin Yang sensed something and looked at the little rabbit not far away.

He saw that the little fella also perceived the danger and jumped up high to avoid the attack.
In the next second, a sharp blade was ruthlessly stabbed into the position where Yin Yiliu was at.
If she had reacted just a little slower, the little fella’s body would have been pierced by an arrow.

Jin Yang’s eyes darkened, and his expression became scary for a moment, but when he saw the little fella leap into his arms in shock, obviously frightened as well, he could only suppress his rage and gently patted the bunny, stroking her soft little head and ears to comfort her.

The Zhao siblings quickly wiped their mouths, stood up, and stared in the direction where the arrow came from.
Around ten seconds later, they heard rustling sounds from the bushes, and two men and a woman, dressed in professional hunting attire, emerged from the bushes.

The woman seemed to be complaining, “I’d already told you that your aiming is bad.
See? You’d startled the target.”

The two men next to her, one was around middle-age, and the other one appeared to be in his prime.
To be able to dress so well in the apocalypse, they were probably all evolved people.

There was a hint of inconcealable surprise in her eyes the moment she set her gaze on Jin Yang.
After seeing the rabbit that they had preyed on in the man’s arms, she realized that they had nearly killed someone else’s pet.

The young man next to her didn’t notice the rabbit.
He only smelled the faint aroma of meat in the air.
His stomach started to grumble, and his eyes were fixated on the barbecued meat behind these few people.

The woman smiled naturally and poisedly as she tentatively said to Jin Yang with an outstretched hand, “Hello, my name is Wen Renjing.
We had no idea this rabbit belonged to you…”

“Get lost.”

The dark golden shade in Jin Yang’s eyes moved turbulently as if a monstrous rage was brewing within him, and he would tear apart the woman named Wen Renjing in front of him in the next second.

When he thought about how the little fella was nearly killed by an arrow, he couldn’t restrain the anger in his heart.
The bulging veins on his forehead were throbbing, completely unlike his usual cold demeanor.

Wen Renjing was taken aback by the ruthlessness in Jin Yang’s eyes, and she subconsciously took a step back.
The man with slightly graying hair beside her pulled her behind him.

These people were a family of three.
The old man was not an evolved person, but rather an experienced hunter.
He was descended from a long line of hunters.
After his family had declined, they had settled down in City Z.

Who knew that the arrival of the apocalypse had led to global evolution, and both his children experienced different evolutions.
Hence, the old hunter had decided to pick up his hunting skills again.
Every day, he would bring his children to the outskirts of the city to practice their aim on small animals.

There was an issue with their ‘practice’ this time.
The prey they had set their eyes on was a domesticated pet rabbit which was cared for a lot by its owner.

The old man was experienced and sensitive to danger.
He could sense that the young man’s gaze was dangerous.
He really wanted to kill Little Jing.

At that moment, Yin Yiliu’s wildly pounding heart finally calmed down.
Jin Yang was holding her too tightly, so she couldn’t help but wiggle.

When she raised her head, she saw Jin Yang frowning, and his lips pursed into a line.
Her heart was a little softened, and she chirped quietly to reassure Jin Yang that she was fine.

“Chirp chirp.” I’m sorry that I made you worried.

Jin Yang took a deep breath and stared at the family of three in front of him unhappily.
The young man was a little annoyed.
“We didn’t know that this rabbit is a domesticated one.
We didn’t do it on purpose.”

“Why does an adult man have a rabbit as a pet anyway,” he muttered in a low voice.

Wen Renjing yanked her brother’s arm and apologized to the handsome man in front of her with a sincere expression on her face, “We’re really sorry.
Now that there are mutated animals everywhere, we really didn’t know this one was domesticated.”

Jin Yang had no intention of fighting with this family of three.
What happened today was indeed an accident, and thankfully, the little fella was just frightened and not hurt.

Otherwise, he would not let these people off the hook.

After glancing at the little wolf approaching behind them, Jin Yang lowered his gaze to the little fella in his arms and comforted her.

Seeing that the atmosphere had improved from being on the verge of a fight to extremely strained, the three of them felt that there shouldn’t be any more problem, so they decided to leave.
The young man was still indignant and dissatisfied, but he remained silent in the end.

Wen Renjing sneaked a peek at Jin Yang, who was still teasing the rabbit in his arms.
The fluttering sensation in her heart was tinged with bitterness.
She turned around to leave, but she was met with the huge mouth and stinky breath of an unknown fierce beast with dark green eyes that were extremely close to her face.

As the wolf howled, she could even see streaks of blood between the wolf’s teeth, and she screamed from the fright.

The pup merely frightened her perfunctorily.
When it saw that the woman was scared to tears, it lazily closed its mouth and licked the corner of its mouth before slowly walking to Jin Yang’s side.

Only then did Wen Renjing understand that the black wolf was a part of the handsome man’s team.
She snuffled and fought back tears, looking pitiful with her reddened eyes.

Her father and elder brother beside her were furious.
The young man stepped forward demanding an explanation from Jin Yang and his teammates.

“What do you guys want?! It’s not like the rabbit’s dead!”

Zhao Sihui was a little embarrassed at first, but she couldn’t help raising an eyebrow after hearing this.
“What are you yelling for? It’s not like she’s dead.”

The young man was fuming.
“How can an animal be compared to a human?”

They came from a family of hunters and had grown up in houses where the furs of wild animals were hung on walls as decorations.
Before they moved to the city, they often went hunting.

In their unconscious minds, animals were prey.
Nothing was comparable to his sister, let alone a rabbit.

Wen Renjing suppressed her grievance, cast a glance at the indifferent Jin Yang, and pulled her brother’s arm.

“Stop it.”

When the figure of the three faded away in the distance, Jin Yang furrowed his brows and sat down.
After checking each of her little paws and feet carefully and ensuring that there were no bloodstains or injuries on them, only then did Jin Yang feel relieved.

He had a resigned expression on his face as he lightly tapped the tip of the rabbit’s pink nose.
He said as if he was heaving a sigh,

“Why do you always make me worried about you?”

Yin Yiliu’s heart and mind, which were still wandering around, suddenly received a critical hit, and her little heart skipped a beat.

Big Golden Thigh, quickly put your damn charm away! It’s not fair!

The author has something to say:

1.
When will Bunny reveal her sockpuppet?

Bunny’s sockpuppet has been revealed long ago, but to let her get caught by Jin Yang when she is running around in human form, isn’t that more fun than revealing it with their mouths! (Very soon)

2.
Bunny is so small, how to be in a romantic relationship?

The little fella’s third evolution will directly jump to adult rabbit woman form, not a big gap from Jin Yang.
For now, Bunny is an indispensable light in Jin Yang’s life.
Big Golden Thigh will be gradually enlightened in some of the later episodes.
Before that happens, there will be no pedophilia or evil thoughts.
He simply wants to take care of Bunny.

3.
Why didn’t he immediately go find his sister? Is his sister not important?

Through this chapter, you should be able to see that there are some problems between the Jin siblings.
There is something between them (to be revealed later) that was the key factor causing Jin Yang’s character defects.
Jin Yang treats her as family, but not the most important person to him.

Other than that I can’t think of any questions for the time being…

PR Note: Curiosity got the best of me and I researched the sounds rabbits make.
Every day of pr-ing this story is the closer I go to buying a pet rabbit.
